Dazhynki is an event that has been held annually in Belarus since 1996. It has already been used to catch the fancy of many residents of Belarus. It is interesting to note that, the capital of the fair and festival this year will be Stolbtsy. Recently, work has been carried out there to improve the area: new roads are being built, houses restored and the city is actively preparing to host guests of the festival.
It is often said that the Belarusians are hardworking people. And it is true! Our culture is closely connected with agriculture. And Dazhynki is just the holiday, which is celebrated at the end of the harvest. There is a certain tradition that we have inherited from our ancestors. The last sheaf gathered that year was decorated with flowers or dressed up in women’s clothes and left in the village or the field until the next year. Now the last sheaf is handed over to the district center, which will host the festival next.
Today, the festival begins with a solemn procession of workers along the town’s main street or a ceremonial opening in the square. At the Dazhynki festival, the best workers in the field of agriculture are awarded.
Of course, you will not be bored here, because there will be plenty of entertainment for all ages! Rides for children, animation, a holiday concert.
What has been prepared in Stolbtsy?
Enormous resources are allocated for the holiday in honor of rural workers, and this year has not been an exception. The Belarus cinema with new high-quality equipment will start operating by the opening of the fair and festival in Stolbtsy. Guests can relax on the beach and visit the renovated Neman restaurant.

Of course, there will also be food courts where you can taste national cuisine at the festival, but if you decide to take a walk around Stolbtsy, here are a few places where you can have a delicious meal:
GORODOK
It is distinguished by reasonable prices, normal portions, and, most importantly, delicious cuisine. The advantage will be parking for cars and a pleasant interior of the location. In general, we recommend it!
PON-PUSHKA
A local donut shop where you can try delicious donuts. You just need to remember that this tasty treat is being sold out so quickly that there is not a single donut left on the shelves by the end of the day.
Neman Restaurant
We have already mentioned this restaurant above. It is prepared for the reception of guests on a grand scale. New furniture, repair conducted, a new menu... However, the cuisine goes without saying, because it has been in heavy demand before and attracted lovers of delicious food.
Attractions along the way:
St. Anne’s Church
This old building was erected in 1825. To date, the temple has been restored and has a very well-kept appearance. The place is truly holy. Valuable icons are stored here, in front of which every worshipper can pray.
Dzerzhinovo Homestead Museum
This historical and cultural value of Belarus was erected in honor of the revolutionary Felix Dzerzhinsky, who was born here in 1877. The museum’s collection displays authentic documents and photographs that will introduce you to Felix’s life. Often, various thematic events and tourist excursions are held at this museum.
