Cranes and Cranberries of Miory District Festival will be held on September 25. The Guests of the Festival will be welcomed at the visitor center of Yelnya Reserve, where a special excursion program will have already been prepared for them. Moreover, from 11 am to 4 pm, tourists can participate in the crane-watching.

During the day, a fair will be held where tourists can buy ecological farm products. So they will have the opportunity to bring home honey, cranberries, herbal teas, and some other useful products. Another public association Protection of Homeland Birds has developed an interactive program, which also will be interesting for the visitors of the Festival. Furthermore, the organizers of the Festival took care of children — special quests and amusement rides will be arranged for them.

And we should tell you a little about that very Festival: its time and place have been chosen for a good reason because the cranberry season begins in September and the Yelnya swamp is the place where the richest cranberries grow. Cranes are also included in the name of the Festival for a good reason: the birds during autumn migration make a stopover in Yelnya, so there are many cranes in Miory.
Once you have come to Miory region, you should visit other interesting places in the area. And the Yelnya swamp is one of them. The place is amazing in its own way: there are many forest islands and small lakes, such a combination creates a beautiful and unique view worth enjoying.
Another picturesque place is the waterfall on the Vyatka River. The waterfall was created for the needs of the hydroelectric power station. The power station has not been operating for a long time, but the waterfall is still a great place to relax and enjoy the sound of water. And tourists usually like the idea to visit a waterfall in Belarus.

The neo-Gothic Church of the Virgin Mary is another cultural attraction in Miory. The red brick building and towers with high spiers definitely attract tourists. The interior of the Church sparks tourists' interest too: there are 3 rare icons in the Church, and the memorial plaques of the Sviatopolk-Mirskies are walled up in it.

There is Nika Hotel in Miory, and many tourists visiting the Cranes and Cranberries of Miory District Festival stay there. And if it is full, Aktam Tourist Base, as well as many farm stays located on the outskirts of the city (for example, Murashki Guest House, Country House in Yanova, Greenvilliage Eco-Hotel, Country House Ethno Dom Lina and etc.) are available for tourists.
We have told you about another Belarusian region, which is rich with interesting places and events. Stay with us in order not to miss new ideas for traveling in Belarus. There are many more places in our country worth visiting!
