It is a pearl of the Belarusian Poozerie, one of the oldest protected natural areas of the highest status in our country.
Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve is located in the northern part of Belarus. It was founded to protect and breed the rare animal and bird species that are listed in the Red Book of Belarus. Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve is included in the UNESCO’s World Network of Biosphere Reserves.
This is the place where:
4 types of ecosystems are concentrated: dense forests, rivers, meadows and marshes;
there is the watershed of the basins of the Baltic sea and the Black sea;
the Berezina, that is the longest river in Belarus, has its source.
Only here:
you can see the famous European Big Five of large mammals – bison, bear, moose, wolf and lynx at the same time;
you can explore the trade route "from the Varangians to the Greeks" and kayaking along the Berezinsky water system;
you can climb the observation tower to capture a picturesque panorama and do wildlife viewing.
