In 1887, in the village of Chernevichi, a church was built in the retrospective Russian style according to the design of the provincial architect Polozov. It was consecrated on June 24, 1887. Stone gates with a wooden hip roof were installed in front of the church.
Documents indicate that in the mid-16th century, there was an Orthodox church in Chernevichi dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. However, its further fate is unknown. In the 19th century, a church of Martyr Paraskeva Friday was built on its site. The wooden church gradually fell into disrepair, and in 1878 it was deemed in urgent need of repair.
The construction of the new church lasted for seven years, from 1879 to 1886. It became a prominent part of the architectural ensemble of Chernevichi and remains an active place of worship.
