The history of this church spans over four centuries. The first wooden Resurrection Church was mentioned in sources as early as 1558. Later, it became known as the Market Church due to its location on the market square. In 1772, a stone church in the Vilnian Baroque style was erected on the site of the wooden one, stunning observers with its beauty and grandeur.
However, in January 1936, the church was destroyed by the decree of the Soviet authorities. The restoration of this historical monument began only after the dissolution of the USSR. Today, the Resurrection of Christ Church attracts attention not only with its architecture but also with its magnificent interior decoration, created thanks to the generosity of patrons and master craftsmen.
The interior decoration of the church was realized with the support of benefactors and local artisans. In 2011, artist Sergey Petrov from Vitebsk created the icon "Harrowing of Hell", which adorns the altar screen of the church. Every visitor notices the magnificent panikadilo, the main chandelier of the church, which was purchased through the generosity of patrons and measures 3 meters in diameter and weighs 600 kg. On the church towers, there are 11 bells of various sizes, ranging from the largest, the Blagovest, weighing 1,200 kg, to the smallest, the Tinky, weighing only 8 kg. One of the bells has Dutch origin and was brought to Belarus as a trophy after World War II.
