It is the only open-air museum in Belarus.
Demonstrating folk and traditional culture of the country in the unity of its regional and local features, the open-air museum belongs to the museums of ethnographical complex profile of the national importance. An important element of the exposition of the open-air museum is the landscape.
This is the place where:
recreate the traditional life of peasants of the late 19th and early 20th centuries;
show the typical characteristics of the three historical and ethnographic regions of the country: the Central Belarus, the Podneprovie and the Poozerie;
temporary exhibitions are held.
Only here:
operate windmills, which are almost nonexistent in Belarus;
ritual events are held;
in the restaurant "Belaruskaya Karchma" the best dishes of traditional Belarusian cuisine are cooked.
