About the Church

During the First World War, the Protection Church suffered significant damage, but it was restored by Russian forces after the liberation of Bogina village.

The specific feature of the architecture includes the use of pseudo-Russian motifs with predominance of straight lines and sculptural elements.

The bell tower is three-tiered, the interior is adorned with marble plaques in memory of the fallen soldiers of the 69th, 70th, 71st, and 72nd infantry regiments, and the 18th artillery brigade of the Russian army. Inside the church, valuable icons from the 18th to the 19th centuries can be found, such as "St. George" and "Mother of God with the Child." The churchyard is enclosed by a historical fence, and the territory houses the burials of several local priests.

In present days, on September 11th, on the feast day of Alexander Nevsky, a festive service takes place annually at the Protection Church.
