The first Saint Lawrence Church in Ushachy was founded by a Dominican monastery established in 1716 by Jeronim Zhaba and his spouse Katarzyna from the Protasyevich family. When Ushachy became a with Magdeburg town, Sant Lawrence began to be its patron saint, revered not only in the church but throughout the district.
The church was closed in 1932 but was revived in 1994 through the efforts of the faithful. Extensive restoration work took place from 2001 to 2004, restoring the church to its former grandeur.
Today, Saint Lawrence Church is open to visitors, offering a glimpse into ancient history and the unique architecture of the neo-Gothic style. Regular religious services are held, and the restored church building has become a symbol of faith and hope for the local community.
