Transfiguration Church was built around 1590 and renovated in 1809. It is a cross-domed church on a stone foundation, embodying the traditions of folk architecture and Baroque elements. Consisting of two parts — the stone bottom and the wooden top, this church includes elements of a unique architectural composition.
There is a roundabout gallery within Transfiguration Church’s territory, and tall towers tented roofs decorate the main facade. Inside the church one can see the domed plafond decorated with the painting 'The Twelve Apostles' of the XVIII century.
In the past, the church faced closing down and becoming a distillery, but today it is reopened to parishioners and visitors, continuing its ministry and drawing attention with its historical and architectural value.
The church contains such icons as ‘The Myrrhbearers’ (late 18th century), ‘The Crucifix’ (19th century), ‘The Coronation of the Virgin’ (18th century), ‘The Last Supper’ (first half of the 19th century).
