The Church of Saint Nicholas in Cheressy, erected from 1878 to 1886, stands as a splendid example of retrospective Russian architecture, prevalent in Belarus during that period.
About the Church
The decorative façades of the Church of Saint Nicholas showcase elements of Architecture of Kievan Rus', such as kokoshniks and keel-shaped arches. Built from locally produced red brick, the church forms part of an architectural complex located on a peninsula surrounded by the waters of two lakes: Cheress and Gretskoye. An impressive feature of the church is its three-tiered bell tower adorned with kokoshniks and other decorative elements, imparting it with an elegant and imposing appearance.
