History

In addition to the well-known Trinity Church, the village of Gervyaty boasts another interesting object: a fakhtwerk-style mill. The mill was built at the beginning of the 19th century. In the middle of the twentieth century, the building fell into decay, in the 1980s. the mill was restored, and now it is of interest to those tourists who prefer tourism and rest in Belarus. The tourist route "Churches of the Vileika region" passes through Gervyaty. The building was erected taking into account all technical achievements. The foundation and walls were tied with wooden reinforcements, so an earthquake or erosion of the building would have done little to damage it. Domeyko installed mechanical lifting mechanisms inside so that the bags were lifted by the machine, and not by people. Various millstones gave flour of different grinds, even the finest for baking. After collectivization, Domeyko's mill was confiscated, but not closed.

Now it is an authentic establishment. The cafe of the local agricultural cooperative, as the cafe is officially called, has retained the old features that were possible. Now tourists who come to rest in Grodno region can visit the old building. The style is unusual for Belarus - a kind of half-timbered houses.
