Rozhkovskaya Icon of the Mother of God

During the Great Patriotic War, a German punitive detachment descended on the village. The able-bodied residents were sent to headquarters, the children were sent to a neighboring village. Everyone else was ordered to dig a grave.

Just before the execution, a plane with a German officer was flying over the village. At that moment, an image of the Mother of God appeared to him, saying that innocent people were being killed. The officer intervened in the execution and achieved a mercy for the residents. And later he brought an icon of the Mother of God with the baby to Rozhkovka. This relic is still in the village in the erected Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.

Icon of the Mother of God "Ruzhanskaya"

The icon, painted around the 19th century, belongs to the type of icons of the Holy Mother of God “Odigitria”.

The miraculous properties of the icon were revealed during a fire on May 5, 1895. The fire damaged the central square of the city, including the Roman Catholic church and residential buildings near the square. The church, which was located nearby, remained unharmed and did not even turn black from the smoke.

In gratitude for the intercession of the Holy Mother of God and the miraculous deliverance of the church from the fire, a commemorative inscription was made on the reliquary of the Ruzhanskaya icon.

Kupyatichskaya Icon of the Mother of God

Kupyatichi village, Pinsk district

In the second half of the 12th century, a little girl discovered the icon by its bright glow among the foliage. The image appeared to her more than once. Time after time, the girl took the cross with the icon home, but the relic always returned to its place.

The villagers built a church on this site. After some time, the Tatars burned it down, but the icon was not damaged. In 1665, the icon was moved to the St. Sophia Cathedral in Kiev, from where it disappeared without a trace, and a copy was made for the residents of Polesie, which is still kept in the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Kupyatichi village.

Kazan Icon of the Mother of God

The miraculous icon of Kazan Mother of God survived the fire of the 17th century. It was saved during the Great Patriotic War and preserved during the persecution of the Soviet era. Prayers at the shrine grant people healing. As parishioners and the rector of the church, Father Alexander, noted, the face of the icon has brightened and a fragrance emanates from it. The shrine is located in the Holy Trinity Markov Monastery.

Orsha Icon of the Mother of God

Orsha

During the foundation of the monastery in the first half of the 17th century, a miracle appeared on the bank of the Kuteinka River – an icon of the Mother of God. The relic became the guardian of this monastery. Twenty years later, it was transported to Iversky Monastery near Novgorod. A copy of the miraculous icon, which heals the sick, is kept in Orsha Assumption Convent.

In the 18th century, the icon was found in a birch grove on the bank of the Lososinka River. The Church of the Heavenly Intercessor was built on that site. The first miracle occurred in 1812. A French soldier climbed a ladder and tried to remove the icon's plating. He fell and died, as evidenced for a long time by an indelible blood stain on the church floor. In the first half of the 19th century, cholera attacked the village. And only thanks to a religious procession with the miraculous icon did the disease retreat. The relic is located in the Church of Falkovichskaya Icon of the Holy Mother of God.

Icon of the Mother of God "Augustov Victory"

Gomel

The Mother of God first appeared during the First World War in 1914. Before the battle near Augustov, Russian soldiers saw the face of the Virgin Mary with the baby in the sky, pointing his hand to the west. This became a sign of victory. People who observed the appearance, no one died in the battle. The icon is especially revered by soldiers' mothers.

The icon, which is now in Gomel, in the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, was brought on foot from Kiev to save its native village of Staraya Volotova (now part of Gomel) from the plague. After the icon was carried around the village, the epidemic stopped. In Soviet times, pious Christians preserved the icon, passing it from house to house.

Kozelshchanskaya Icon of the Mother of God

One of the most revered shrines of Gomel St. Nicholas Monastery is a copy of the miraculous Kozelshchanskaya Icon of the Mother of God. The icon is located above the royal gates of Nikolsky Church. Every Wednesday, an acaphistus chant is performed in front of the icon, during which the icon is lowered for the veneration of the faithful.

Girls come to the icon to ask for marriage, and families pray for the birth of a child, for the preservation of the family in difficult times. Parishioners say that the icon helps with serious conditions and cures diseases. 

The Kozelshchanskaya icon itself, from which the copy was made, has been known since the 18th century as the ancestral relic of the Kapnist family and was located in their estate in Kozelshchina village in Poltava province. In 1880, Count Kapnist's daughter Maria dislocated her leg and her foot became deformed. After unsuccessful treatment, the other foot began to become deformed. The Countess advised her daughter to pray before the family icon. The patient, praying, pressed her whole body to the icon and felt healed. She immediately began to tear off the bandages and heavy metal supports from her feet.

There are known cases of healing from epilepsy and tumors after applying to the miraculous icon.

The icon appeared in 1760 to a peasant who had lost his oxen. Having wandered onto Vas'kov Island, he saw a radiance on a pear tree and discovered the oxen near the tree, and the icon in its branches. A church was built on this site, where the icon began to perform miracles. Parishioners came to it with their sorrows and illnesses. Many years later, the icon was moved to Yelsk Trinity Church by order of  Minsk civil governor Kazimir Sulistrovsky. For this purpose, a straight wide road was laid through the forest. In the 1920s, the icon disappeared, and Yelsk Church was closed in 1930.

Today, in Vaskovskaya Church of the Exaltation of the Cross, there is a no less miraculous list, where people go with personal requests.

Zhirovichi Icon of the Mother of God

Zhirovichi at., Slonim district

The shrine was discovered in a bright light in the branches of a pear tree in the second half of the 15th century by shepherds. A temple was soon built on the site of the apparition. Half a century later, it burned down, and the icon disappeared. But after some time, the Holy Mother of God appeared to the locals with this icon in her hands. The temple was restored, and later, a monastery was built on this site. The icon of the Mother of God has shown many miracles: it has repeatedly saved believers from cancer, granted the happiness of being parents, and healed a child in the womb. Today, the shrine is located in the Assumption Cathedral of Zhirovichi Monastery.

Suknevichskaya Icon of the Mother of God

Another icon that appeared in pear branches in the 17th century. The image of the Mother of God was taken to the church many times, but each time the relic returned to the tree. So the believers built a chapel at the site of the appearance. The miraculous icon saves from illnesses and ailments. There are known cases of healing from diseases of the legs and arms, as well as the healing of non-healing wounds after applying to the miraculous image. The icon is in the Church of the Holy Spirit.

An interesting story about the appearance of the miraculous icon. People with cancer and infertility came to the Church of the Holy Archangel Michael, where the shrine is located today, for consolation. Since there were no painted icons in the church at that time, they hung a paper image of the "All-Tsaritsa", to whose prayerful help people resort in such sorrows. The prayers of many were heard. With the donations of the cured, the icon of the Mother of God "All-Tsaritsa" was painted.

There is a version that the miraculous image was painted by an angel in Belynichi Monastery, which belonged to the Carmelites. The icon disappeared without a trace. Its miraculous list has been preserved. The descriptions of miracles include cases of one Mogilev official falling ill with cholera and barely crawling over the threshold of Belynichi church in a serious condition, but suddenly recovering after the service. There is information about a woman who gave birth to stillborn babies, but after making a vow to come to Belynichi Mother of God's Church every year, the children began to be born alive. In our time, there have been numerous cases of getting rid of various tumors after prayers in the church. Today, the icon is kept in the Church of the Icon of Belynichi Mother of God.

Icon of Mogilev-Brother Mother of God

The image of the Mother of God, popularly called Brother, has been known since the 17th century. The icon is considered miraculous: many cases of healing from various ailments in front of the holy image have been recorded. More than once, the shrine saved Mogilev itself from misfortunes. One example: in 1910, Mogilev was engulfed in fire. The procession with the icon in their hands went out to meet the fire. At that moment, the wind changed direction, the fire began to weaken and soon went out.

Unfortunately, the original icon has been lost. However, the Cathedral of the Three Hierarchs houses a no less miraculous list of the relic.

Barkolabovskaya Icon of the Mother of God

at. Barkolabovo, Bykhov district

There is a version that in the middle of the 17th century, the youngest son of Dmitry Pozharsky passed by the Holy Ascension Convent with a convoy containing the relic. The horses stopped and did not move until the icon was handed over to the convent. The icon, left in the center of the church, was found in the morning to the right of the altar.

The shrine is credited with many miracles. In 1812, one of the soldiers of Napoleon's army decided to remove the pendant from the icon, but an invisible force lifted him in the air and threw aside.

During the explosion at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, Bykhov district was contaminated with radiation, but the territory of the Holy Ascension Convent remained clean.

Today, the miraculous icon, which is kept here, is asked for healing and fulfillment of cherished desires. It is believed that it helps with oncology and infertility, including male infertility. The list of grateful notes about the shrine in the monastery grows from year to year.

Icon of Budslav Mother of God

For more than four centuries, one of the most revered shrines has been kept in Belarus. The icon was painted at the end of the 16th century and presented by Pope Clement VIII to Minsk governor Jan Pac. The icon heals diseases, grants long-awaited pregnancy to infertile couples and restores vision. The image is located in the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Rakov Icon of the Mother of God

According to legend, in the 15th century, a blind man lived in Rakov, who once got lost in the forest. He prayed to the Virgin Mary and asked for salvation. Soon he came across a spring. After washing and drinking the water, he regained his sight, and next to the spring he saw an icon of the Virgin Mary. He brought the relic to the village, where a temple was built for it. Since then, the icon has been healing those who suffer from eye diseases, suffer from loneliness, or have lost their way. The miraculous icon is located in the Holy Transfiguration Church, which is over 200 years old.

Lyady Monastery keeps a list of Vatopedi Icon of the Mother of God "Joy and Consolation". The icon is painted on boards made from trees growing near the monastery. The colors for painting the icon were combined with particles of the relics of Athon ascetics.

The icon of the Mother of God "Joy and Consolation" is especially revered throughout the Orthodox world. Numerous miracles have been recorded that occurred after prayer at the miraculous icon, which is indisputable evidence and irrefutable proof of the intercession of the Queen of Heaven.

According to legend, the icon was painted in Byzantium, from where Prince Vladimir brought it to Kiev. It remained there until 1240. During the Tatar raids on Kiev, it was thrown into the Dnieper, and on August 13, 1500, it floated to Minsk. Local residents discovered it by its unusual glow in the Svisloch. The uniqueness of the icon is that Belarusian people did not lose it for more than 500 years, including the shrine survived the Great Patriotic War and did not disappear. The image is miraculous, in significance and ability to work miracles it is equal to Zhirovichi Icon of the Mother of God.

The Church of the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God

The icon appeared to the residents on the Feast of the Intercession of the Virgin Mary in Kruptsy estate (now within the city limits of Minsk). A chapel was built on that site, in which the relic was kept. And centuries later, a temple was erected in honor of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin Mary. In the 1920s, the Intercession Church was destroyed, and the location of the miraculous icon is still unknown. In 1993, an Orthodox parish was restored in Kruptsy and a new Holy Intercession Church was built with its efforts. It contains the revered copy of Kruptsy Icon. The relic helps in troubles and provides protection to those in need.
