Asmalouka

It’s a few blocks of authentic Stalin-era buildings near noisy Niamiha street behind the Opera Theatre. Sweet old two-storied houses are covered in the greenery of cozy front gardens.

Asmalouka

Take a walk along the quiet streets — there laundry is dried in the courtyards like in the middle of the last century, the elderly people play chess on the benches, and the scented pink bushes evoke an amazing nostalgia. Go round the corner and enjoy the beauty of slightly poached, but very picturesque fences, windows, arches, and bas-reliefs. Such a Belarusian Odessa!

Nature: Loshytsky and Chyzhousky Parks

We recommend you to visit both and decide which side you are on! Loshytsky Park will please you with picnic spots, cozy summerhouses, a beautiful promenade and the restored mansion. Special mention should be made of the legends about its inhabitants: Mr. Lubanski and his wife Jadwiga, who died tragically. The gentleman planted an amazing park, rebuilt the mansion, and decorated it in different styles for her. However, the happiness of the spouses was short —Jadwiga tragically died.

Nature: Loshytsky and Chyzhousky Parks

Chyzhousky Park (Park of the 950th Anniversary of Minsk) is located on the bank of the Chyzhousky Water Reservoir. We recommend you take a walk along the promenade and enjoy the breathtaking views from the high bank, where the reservoir spreads out before you. The park is a great place for romantic dates: there you can see the brightest sunsets in Minsk. After sunset do not rush to leave: landscape designers have worked hard to illuminate the park and make each alley picturesque.

Nezalezhnastsy Avenue

Yeah, we promised avoid banalities. Don’t be disappointed. Have you ever walked down the whole Nezalezhnastsy Avenue? If not, try it. You will see majestic, magnificent Minsk. Listen to the noise of the cars, admire the architecture.

Nezalezhnastsy Avenue

By the way, it is the longest street in the world with the buildings constructed in one style (Stalin Empire). Try not to be distracted by shops and cafes along the avenue, look around and, we are sure, Minsk will become dear and priceless for you!

District near Metro Station Traktarny Zavod

Tractarabudaunikou avenue, Chebatarova, Shcharbakova, Stakhanouskaya, Klumova, and Kashavoha Streets are made for photo sessions and filming in the style of the past century. Fancy and slightly funky architecture — colonnades, balconies, bas-reliefs, flowery hedges — delights the eyes of adults, and children appreciate the large playground near the front gate entrance of the Minsk Tractor Works. It looks especially fabulous on New Year’s Eve.

Bikeway

Bikeway

It runs from Chyzhouka to Drazdy and strings Minsk attractions and parks like beads. It will take you 3 hours to cycle all the way (its length is 26,2 km). There are pedestrian lanes on the side, so you can walk on foot, just remember that the first rule of the bikeway is not to disturb cyclists.

This is a short list of places where you can walk in Minsk without spending any money. We are sure, that you will discover more routes and entertaining places!
