It was opened in the village of Buynichi in 2006. No historical artifacts or archaic items were used in the creation of the museum complex. All exhibits of the museum are the creation of modern masters.
Well-maintained fountains, neat benches, paved paths, adorned with flowers and exotic shrubs, remind us that this is not a real village but a beautiful stylization. Nevertheless, the ethnographic complex in Buynichi is a peculiar portal to the past, which allows imagining how our ancestors lived in the 19th century. Here you can get acquainted with the traditional way of life of the Belarusians of the Dnieper region, their crafts, rituals, and customs.
The ethnographic village is a full-fledged tourist object with all the necessary infrastructure, where you can spend a couple of hours or several days.
Located within the village are:
The real gem of the ethnographic complex is the town of masters, consisting of craft houses. Here visitors can get a closer look at traditional Belarusian crafts - straw weaving, weaving, carpentry, pottery, and blacksmithing. Here you can see the masters at work, try your hand at making products from clay, straw, vines, and purchase gifts and souvenirs. In the Baker’s House, guests are offered freshly baked goods according to traditional recipes, in the Distiller’s House - to taste a strong drink, in the Weaver's House - to see how clothing items are made from linen, sheep's wool, and hemp fibers.
All objects of the ethnographic village can be explored independently or a professional guided tour can be ordered with stories about the traditions and legends of the region.
Festivals and fairs are regularly held on the territory of the museum complex, and national holidays are celebrated.
