The dense forests, which stretch over vast territories, are home to elk, red deer, European roe deer, wild boar, fox, hare, squirrel, marten, badger, raccoon dog and many other representatives of the animal world. The populations of many animals are maintained in an optimal state due to strict hunting regulations and effective measures taken to protect nature at the state level.
The diversity of hunting grounds is another reason why hunting in Belarus is so popular. Broadleaf forests, coniferous forests, marshland, river valleys and lakes – each landscape offers its own hunting features and types of game. However, each region of the country has its own unique nature, giving hunters the opportunity to choose the most suitable conditions. For example, Polesie is famous for its marshes and abundant waterfowl, and National Parks offer hunting in specially protected areas with a limited number of licenses, which makes it especially prestigious.
Developed infrastructure of hunting tourism is another important factor. There are over 200 hunting farms in Belarus offering a wide range of services. These are not just places for hunting, but full-fledged recreation centers with comfortable accommodation, meals, organization of hunting tours and support of experienced rangers. Many farms offer trophy processing services, which makes hunting tourism in Belarus accessible and comfortable for hunters with different levels of training and financial capabilities.
Traditionally, the hunting season in Belarus is divided into several periods. Spring hunting is mainly focused on waterfowl, summer-autumn hunting - on ungulates, and autumn-winter hunting - on fur animals. Hunting is permitted for 53 species of wild animals, including 22 species of mammals, and 31 species of birds. The area of hunting grounds is 17 million hectares. It is worth noting that hunting farms are actively introducing new technologies, for example, using GPS monitoring systems to control the number of animals and prevent poaching. This helps maintain environmental balance and ensure sustainable development of hunting tourism.
