The Pumpkin Fest, mowing competition, the dance festival "Dancing in the Old-fashioned Way", and the "Bulbachka Belarusachka, the potato festival" – the event calendar of Lida city and Lida region has activities for children and adults aged 5 to 105. Make sure to familiarize yourself with the program in advance so you don't miss the most interesting parts! After all, it is a great reason to go on a journey.
On May 27, the most vibrant and colorful spring festival called "Magic of Fire and Light" will take place at the Lida Castle. Participants will demonstrate their unusual talents and skills to the audience. Guests can expect a spectacular show: a fire show, fire breathing, performances with fiery props, and professional fireworks. Fakirs and fire conquerors promise a grandiose spectacle!
On June 1-2, Lida Castle will turn into an art workshop. The open children's festival-competition "Art Territory" will take place here. Kids will draw on canvas and asphalt, showcase their works, and practice their design skills. A creative atmosphere and enjoyment for the audience are guaranteed!
On July 8, the celebration of Ivan Kupala Day, also known as "Kupalle" will take place at the venue near Lida Castle. An interesting and rich program is planned: a theatrical performance, concert, games, and rituals based on Belarusian mythology, and a large traditional bonfire. Attractions for little guests will be organized. There will be tents with vendors selling handicrafts by folk artisans. Those interested can participate in a master class on weaving floral wreaths.
In 2023, the city's residents and all guests will celebrate its anniversary. Lida turns 700 years old! In honor of this milestone, many events are planned for September 1-3. In addition to traditional entertainment programs (concerts, games, performances by creative groups, sports competitions), the organizers have also announced a knight tournament "Sword of Lida Castle," a health run, a gastro-fest, and a disco called "Golden Retro: Disco-700."
On September 2, as part of the city's day celebration, an open-air event, "Lidbeer", will take place (traditionally held at the initiative of the "Lida Beer" company). The festival is back in a new format! The organizers promised that this year the entrance will be free. It also became known that instead of just one gala concert, there will be several locations where invited artists will perform. So guests can choose a venue to their liking. Guests can have a quick snack between songs or enjoy a substantial and delicious meal at one of the food courts. The intrigue remains as to which artists will perform at Lidbeer. But it is already known that there will be plenty of fresh beer, noisy fun, good music, drive, and bright emotions.
No matter where you live, there will be many holidays and festivals to enjoy! Create a cultural program and journey to Lida with your family, friends, or even alone. With energetic dances, music, and fun, it's a celebration for the soul!
