The second day of the workshop continued in Grodno. The event participants examined the features of tourism using the example of the XIV Republican Festival of National Cultures. As part of the opening of the holiday, Deputy Chairman of Grodno Regional Executive Committee Viktor Pranyuk visited the exhibition which was located in the New Castle.

Belarus through the eyes of a tourist

Representatives of the National Tourism Agency spoke about the scale of work which had been done in tourism, the development of tourism potential, new services which will enable tourists to create an exciting trip.

Visitors did not only learn about significant tourist sites, but also discovered new points of attraction on the map of Belarus. In addition, useful publications for travelers were presented at the ground of the National Tourism Agency.

In addition, each district of Grodno region was represented by tourist information center. Their representatives introduced visitors to the significant sights of their districts. Many of them have been attracting not only Belarusian but also foreign travelers for several years.

Journey for the Emotions

The dialogue platform “Journey for the Emotions: Event Tourism in Belarus” became the final event of the outdoor seminar “Event Tourism in Belarus” and summed up the results of two days of fruitful work and interesting meetings.

The moderator was the director of the National Tourism Agency Dmitry Morozov. The dialogue was attended by representatives of government agencies and specialists from the tourism sector. The participants discussed the experience of arranging and holding well-known events, as well as the prospects for new products of the 2024 tourist season.

Deputy Director of the National Tourism Agency Anna Voshchinchuk drew attention to current issues of the industry. She mentioned such topics as the identity of events and their coverage, infrastructure, and the combination of tradition and innovation.

Deputy Head of the Department of Sports and Tourism of Grodno Regional Executive Committee Tatyana Lidyaeva spoke about the development of event tourism in the region. According to her speech, Grodno region is trying to take into account the increasing demands of travelers and offering interesting new products, as well as introducing show and interactive elements into excursions. It is noteworthy that more than 300 facilities in the region joined the national campaign “Wander. Feel it. Get inspired." Tatyana Lidyaeva called the “Accessible History of Volkovysk” route one of the bright innovations of the season - this is a vivid example of the development of inclusive tourism. Its peculiarity is that it gives people with disabilities the opportunity to get acquainted with the sights of the city.

However, Vitebsk region is among the leaders in the export of tourism services. The International Arts Festival “Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk” plays a significant role in attracting guests to the region.

Using specific examples, the workshop participants proved that event tourism in Belarus is gaining popularity and makes it possible to draw attention to the regions and reveal their potential.
