The following types of active tourism are distinguished: hiking, water, skiing, cycling and mountain tourism. Their main goal is not only relaxation, but also obtaining new emotions, improving physical fitness and improving health.
Hiking is one of the most accessible and popular types of active tourism. They can be either one-day walks through picturesque places or multi-day hikes with overnight stays in tents. Such trips enable to enjoy the beauty of nature, explore hard-to-reach corners and test your endurance.
Cycling travel is a great way to explore new horizons, combining active recreation with physical activity. Cycling routes can take place both along city streets and along picturesque rural roads and forests. This option is suitable for people of any age and level of training.
Water tourism includes kayaking, rafting, diving, windsurfing and other water activities, with which you can test your dexterity and get a lot of positive emotions.
Ski tours and snowboarding are especially popular in winter, when you can admire the beauty of the snow-capped mountains.
Active tourism is associated with visiting untouched natural areas, lakes, rivers, and national parks. This is an ideal option for those hungry for adventure, discovery, for those who want to actively explore the world, and not statically observe it. The presence of difficulty levels enables not only athletes and experienced tourists, but also families with children to join the trip. However, many types of active tourism require certain skills, for example, kayaking, canoeing, and bicycle tours.
It is worth noting that there are more than 250 cycling, walking and water routes in Belarus! Their number is growing every year. Thanks to this, the tourist attractiveness of our country increases. For example, more than five million tourists visited the country last year alone. Guests not only learn the iconic sights of Belarus, traditions and culture: recently they increasingly prefer active recreation, going on a cycle tour around the country.
It should be noted here that local executive authorities are doing a lot of work and non-state organizations are increasingly involved in this process. Thanks to this new tourist routes are appearing, including those designed for cyclists. The routes are marked, maps and various navigation elements are installed.
