Mozyr is a city in the Gomel region and one of the oldest Belarusian cities, which was first mentioned in 1155. Now the city has the largest river port in the country and a lot of sights that are worth a visit for a tourist.
Lenin Square
Let's start our review article from Lenin Square, which is the centre of the city. The monument erected to Vladimir Ilyich has an unusual appearance due to the waving red flag behind him. But this is not the only place to visit on the square: there is also a department store where tourists can buy souvenirs depicting the city's sights.
It is easy to walk from the centre to Primostovaya Square, from where travelers can get to anywhere in the city, after all, all Mozyr bus routes depart from this place.
Zamkavaya Hara
Mozyr is known for its hilly reliefs, and one of the hills is now a place for city holidays, walks and recreation and it is called Zamkavaya Hara (literally Castle Hill). It is believed that the history of the city began with it. Previously, a settlement was located here, which included a detinets (city fort), a church and three defense towers. Unfortunately, the building has not survived to this day, but tourists can see modern smaller replicas on Zamkavaya Hara.
In addition, there is the Ptichskaya tower on Hara, which has an observation deck with a beautiful city view. For children, a small town with fairy-tale characters was built on Zamkavaya Hara, so they will definitely not be bored.
Paleskaya Veda Museum and Mozyr Local History Museum
These museums are part of the Mozyr United Local History Museum complex, but these two are specifically located on Zamkavaya Hara or near it, so you don't have to go far. In the Paleskaya Veda museum, the tourist will get acquainted with the Poleshuki’s traditions and worldview. Here, visitors are also given a master class on weaving using a real loom.
The Mozyr Local History Museum will tell tourists more about the city of Mozyr itself in terms of its nature, archeology and the glory of internationalist soldiers.

If you want to enjoy a pleasant atmosphere and good service, then you need to look into Old Town restaurant on 1 Oktyabrskaya Street. Here you can have a tasty and hearty meal, as well as try interesting cocktails and wine. On weekdays, in addition to food and drinks, you can also enjoy live music there, and on weekends and holidays, the restaurant organises an entertainment programme.
If you want to have a hearty but quick meal, then such cafes as Zebra (1A Malinin Boulevard), Terem (8 Pritytsky Street), and Pizza Smile (11A Druzhba Boulevard) are at your service. The menus of these cafes have different items that will be liked by both adults and children.
