Glubokoye

In northwest Belarus, the beautiful town of Glubokoe is located. All Belarusians and many visitors to our country know that condensed milk is produced here. But few people know that Glubokoye has other advantages: European spirit, wonderful architectural monuments, scenic outdoors, and even its secrets. Two main temples, Catholic and Orthodox, are opposite each other, both designed in the majestic Baroque style.

Glubokoye

At the same time, the town itself stands on five lakes, and there are ancient vaults under the town where you can take atmospheric photos! The search for the grave of Baron Munchausen at the local cemetery will become an unforgettable adventure. You are to go to Glubokoye for the cranberries in sugar made by a local factory; for a dozen variations of condensed milk; for walks along the central square and a very attractive embankment of a small lake in the city center; and for that cherry festival.

Postavy district

Postavy is one of the ancient cities of the Vitebsk region most frequently visited by tourists. The Tiesenhaus Palace, an architectural monument of the first half of the XIX century, is among its main tourist attractions. Today, the Tiesenhaus Palace houses a hospital, and a historical exposition dedicated to the glorious dynasty and the history of World War I is open in the cellars.

Postavy district

The whole appearance of Postavy evokes a pleasant feeling of harmony. Fishermen are fishing against the background of the amazingly beautiful Church of St. Anthony of Padua, a monument of neo-Gothic architecture. Passers-by slowly walk along the sidewalk, a part of which is hidden in an arch behind the walls of a nearby building. And the houses on the market square, which are already several hundred years old, are still inhabited.

Postavy district

The unique castle-fortress of the Church of St. John the Baptist in the village of Kamai, Postavy District, is considered one of the oldest Catholic churches in Belarus. It belongs to the rarest type of temples - defensive. Another hallmark of this church is that it was built in 1603-1606 and has been open since its foundation, even in Soviet times.

Braslav district

The Braslav Lakes National Park is an amazing place of Belarusian nature. It is famous for the extraordinary beauty of natural landscapes and lakes. This place is a home for rare species of foresters listed in the Red Book, about 200 species of birds, and a rich variety of fish. The lake group includes more than 50 lakes.

Braslav district

In addition to natural beauties, many historical and cultural sights are well preserved in Braslav. Many of them are worth visiting:

  • Bookmark Museum in the village of Zarachye;
  • Viking settlement in the village of Maskovichi;
  • Church of the Divine Providence in the village of Slobodka, located between the lakes, which is also often called the Jesus Heart Church;
  • The Corpus Christi Church in the village of Ikazn, built in 1912;

The Catholic Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in the village of Vidzy, built in 1914. Vidzy Church is called one of the highest in Belarus - the height of its spiers is 59 meters. You can go up the stairs to the towers of the church and see the panorama of the town, Disna, neighboring Lithuania.

We highly recommend taking this truly marvellous tourist route. Natural beauties, historical and cultural values, as well as the warm hospitality of the Vitebsk region will allow nobody to stay indifferent!
