The Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” dates back to the end of the 19th century and is the main decoration of the settlement, as well as an architectural monument of the Russian-Byzantine style, as indicated by the use of such typical decorative elements as arcature and keel-like arches, as well as the composition of the church. It consists of a hipped two-tier bell tower, an apse, the main bulbous head-crowned space, and an antechurch.
The elegant appearance that distinguishes the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Joy of All Who Sorrow” in Sharkovshchina is determined by the contrasting combination of white and red fragments. The most difficult period of its history started in 1948, when the church building was used as a club, and afterwards as a store. Only in 1990, the church was returned to believers by the decision of local authorities. Sacred services were again celebrated following restoration work and rededication.
The Holy Assumption Church is another significant temple in Sharkovshchina. Erected in 1912 on the banks of the Disna River according to the project of the provincial diocesan architect Shpakovsky on the site of an already ramshackle church built in 1639, the Assumption Church never ceases to draw the eye of citizens and guests.
The Holy Assumption Church has never been closed, services are still being held today. Icons of the 18th-19th centuries are considered to be a relic of the temple, and two bells cast in Moscow in 1853 and 1856 have preserved to this day. The Holy Assumption Church is a unique monument of wooden architecture.
The Fedorovichi Estate of the beginning of the 20th century. It is impossible to ignore the estate on the banks of the Disna River. It was built in the neoclassical style, a park was laid out nearby, which has preserved to this day. The building of the estate is one-story, rectangular. The main entrance is highlighted by a four-column portico with a triangular pediment. The facade is decorated with a five-sided bay window from the side of the courtyard. Profiled entablature and niches are used in the external decor. The interior has partially preserved stucco rosettes and cornices. The estate has a historical and cultural value.
The Lopatinsky Estate in Sharkovshchina of the 19th century. Initially, the estate looked like this: a residential building - a white two-story building on top of a hill, a garden, with ponds, and alleys around. The building has been rebuilt at the present time. Only one third of the old building has remained. Two-thirds of the house were demolished after the war. Then the same part of the building was attached to the house. And the old building can be distinguished from the new one by a crack in the wall, and by windows and recesses near the windows on the old facade of the building. Today, in addition to the main building, you can see an outbuilding, a chapel and a table-tomb and fragments of an old park.
