Participants: heads of tourist information centers, representatives of tourism organizations, employees of the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism and representatives of the National Tourism Agency.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism Oleg Andreychik noted that today tourist information centers have a key role in promoting domestic and international tourism, developing partnerships with representatives of the tourism industry, conducting marketing events, popularizing national history, culture and folk customs, providing useful information about the region's tourism opportunities and services for visitors.
A tourist information center in Dyatlovo is a vivid example of this. Here, meticulous work is carried out aimed at increasing demand for tourist services; over 15 tourist routes have been developed in the region, which reveal the region in all appearances. The tourist information center opened its doors a year ago and provides tourists with a range of services for all 13 types of tourism. For city residents and visitors of the district, this is a source of useful information: you will learn about interesting routes, you will be provided with free information brochures and travel maps, and you can also book a fascinating excursion. The center actively cooperates with cultural institutions of the region, which enables tourists of all ages to immerse in the cultural life of the district, participate in creative master classes, communicate with masters of folk crafts, and study the expositions of local museums.
Another amazing city in Grodno region is Novogrudok. The preserved historical monuments, like frames of an old film, demonstrate fragments of the rich past of Belarusian land. This is one of the secrets why Novogrudok and Novogrudok district are a rapidly developing tourist center, a priority place of attraction for international tourist flows. Guests of the region are attracted by the rich history, picturesque landscapes and hospitality. All thanks to the colossal work done by the local TIC, which opened in 2013.
TIC "Novogrudok" provides information support to tourists both by telephone, social networks, and at mass events. TIC employees will help create an individual route taking into account interests and time of stay. Here you can choose a vacation by preference:
Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism Oleg Andreychik also noted the importance of opening tourist information centers for the development of tourism in the country and the promotion of the tourism potential of the regions. Today, 30 TICs are registered and operating in the country, 17 of which appeared in the first half of this year. Tourist information centers perform not only an information function, but also act as coordinators for the development of tourism in their regions. The main goal of the TIC is to create tourism products and promote them on the domestic market. It is important to understand the key point: a tourist information center is an organization that unites various tourism entities, representatives of government agencies, businesses and public associations.
Today, TICs perform three strategic tasks:
The leader in the number of operating TICs is Vitebsk region. There are 13 of them. In second place is Grodno region - 12 tourist information centers. Brest region is the only one where there is not a single TIC at the moment. But this is a matter of time. In the future, TICs will play the role of complex regional centers for tourism development, including on the basis of which excursion bureaus will be created.
