The Art Gallery is situated in one of the buildings of a former Jesuit College, which is an architectural monument of the 18th century. It is the art complex that tells about culture and art of Belarus from the 11th century till nowadays. The exposition contains the collection of icons of the 18th—19th centuries, secular portraiture of the 18th century, as well as the collection of art, graphics and sculpture by famous Belarusian artists of the 20th century.
Permanent exhibition "Mural painting of the 12th—19th centuries from Saviour Transfiguration Church", which was opened in 2014, displays examples of mural paintings of the 12th, 18th and 19th centuries exfoliated from the walls of Saviour Transfiguration Church — the pearl of Polotsk architectural school of the 12th century. It also shows the unique technology of exfoliation and restoration of fragments of mural paintings.
There is the Art Salon in the Art Gallery, where one can buy works of modern Belarusian art.
