Permanent exhibition "A Walk along Nizhne-Pokrovskaya Street", which was opened in May 1998, is situated in the so-called Peter I House, the architectural monument of the late 17th century.
The exposition was created on the basis of a valuable and significant museum object of the early 20th century — "The Guidebook on Polotsk" that was published in Polotsk
in 1910 on the occasion of transferring St. Euphrosyne's relics from Kiev to Polotsk. More than 200 exhibits tell about the history of Nizhne-Pokrovskaya Street, about the people who lived and worked on that street, about the buildings both extant and irretrievably lost and establishments that stood there in the early 20th century.
